1) Physical activity as an outlet from the rigors of academic life
2) The pride associated with representing AIC against other schools
3) Avenues for camaraderie between one’s teammates and competitors
4) Opportunities to develop leadership through organizing, administrating, and implementing the club sports program.
Definition of a Sport Club
A sport club is a group of students organized for the purpose of furthering their common interest in an activity through participation and competition. A sport club has a minimum number of participants (set by Club Sports Coordinator depending on sport) to be eligible to be recognized as an active sport club.
Sport clubs are meant to be a learning experience for the members through their involvement in fund raising, public relations, organization, administration, budgeting, and scheduling, as well as through the development of skills in their particular sport. Involvement in a group and team situation helps enhance the student’s overall education while living in the college setting.
